I think I'm one of the few brides-to-be who can say she found her dress right away. I had my first appointments at local bridal salons with my mom and future mother-in-law in May, just days after a biopsy. As I was trying on the gowns I had no idea what type of breast cancer I had, or what stage it was in, or what my treatment would be. The beautiful thing about life is that even though there was all that uncertainty and fear, I look back at that day in May and remember one of the best times in my entire life. It's also the day I found my dress...the one I will wear to my wedding in March 2012. Although it wasn't the very first dress I tried on, it was the second, I believe. We went to two bridal shops that day and I tried on many dresses, but found four I loved so much. After weeks of "sleeping on it," I decided on "the one." I let it happen naturally, as I knew it would. I know it is the perfect one for me and I can't imagine wearing anything else at my wedding. Now my dress is ordered, and with the order came a cute little tank top I can't wait to show off!
