wedding, wine, fragrance & fashion

wedding.fashion.wine.fragrance.reading.coffee.
These are my melodies of life.

This really wouldn't be Pink and Pearls, a blog about my wedding planning and breast cancer journey without a little fashion, now would it? Fashion makes up, oh, about one-third of my life, after all. This post will be light and fluffly, and will focus on some wedding things, some fashion things and some ... other things!

Wedding thing:
Pink rose-shaped soap for the ladies' bathroom? Or part of a gift for the bridesmaids?

Fashion thing (ears): Betsey Johnson monkey earrings. Because who wouldn't wear monkeys on their ears?
Fashion thing (feet): Sparkly heart shoe clips from ban.do.
Wine thing: Baron Herzog. As far as I'm concerned, there is no other Kosher wine. (Sorry, Manischewitz, you were a college thing.)
I am lucky enough to have two bottles of these lovelies in our home, thanks to various friends with good taste. Speaking of which, I need to make a date with a Ms. Moser, yes?
Fragrance thing: Avon 60's Pop. I enjoy perfumes that not everyone has or has even heard of. I also like perfumes either from, or that resemble, older times, such as the twenties, etc. 60's Pop was not made in the 1960's but it is supposed to be reminiscent of that time. I'm not good at giving perfume reviews (despite my heafty collection of them), but if I had to describe this, it would be woody and strong, yet also playful.

Reading thing: Girls in White Dresses by Jennifer Close
Thanks to an article in The Washington Post (Aug. 14 edition) given to me by my mom, I am intrigued about this woman's journey with her friends through life during well, lots of weddings. As the article by Ellen McCarthy states about the book: "They are wedding-goers in a marathon. These ragged souls don't have two or three weddings to attend this year. They have six, maybe eight, plus a shower, engagement party and bachelor/bachelorette getaway for each. Presence - and presents - required for each."

Coffee thing: Just gulped the last of it this morning, but Starbucks Natural Fusions: Vanilla has been a key player every morning. Sure, I've got others (Maxwell House and even the good stuff like Rostov's and Columbian coffee), but this one was amazing in every way, every day.
